As you'd suspect, we get this question a lot. The short answer is - We don't know until we look at it. However, we have written about it on our blog. Regardless, our diagnostics and quotes are free, so bringing it in for us to check it out does you no harm. If the repair price is too much - no worries! You won't owe us anything but a smile.
The answer above partially answered this, but when it comes to repairing vs replacing, the most important factor is typically price. We offer free quotes of course, but you might just want a ballpark for how much your repair might cost. It's tough for us to say without looking at the machine, but we have written about general pricing as well. PC desktops are relatively easy to fix, so repairing is often a much better choice than replacing.

If we can’t fix it, you don’t pay. It’s that simple!
For hardware repairs, we keep a lot of parts in stock but since there are so many different types of PC desktops out there, we might need to order a part. If that’s the case, we typically get parts within 24-48 hours!
Absolutely. We offer 90 day warranties on all of our standard repairs (if we have to buy custom parts, those parts may have a different warranty period). If anything goes wrong after 90 days, it’s unlikely to be due to our repair but you’re welcome to bring it by anyway. We’re usually able to help, especially if it was related to the repair we performed.
Of course not! We can take it apart and put it back together for you. We have the tools and expertise to do it quickly and efficiently, don’t worry about it!
That depends – if you’d rather not bring it in (understandably) we can try to diagnose it and give you an estimate over the phone. Sometimes we can’t because we don’t want to misquote you, and then we might need to see it in-person.
It’s ALWAYS a good idea to backup your data before a repair (and we suggest you do). Even Apple advises backing up your data before any repair. However, it’s extremely unlikely you’ll lose any data during the repair.
