PC LAPTOP REPAIR
Laptop Graphics Card Replacement
If your laptop graphics card fails and needs to be replaced, this isn’t a fun problem to have! On most laptops, the graphics card is integrated onto the motherboard which means you’ll need to replace the entire motherboard. Some gaming laptops have replaceable graphics cards though, so it may be possible to replace it without replacing the entire board.
It can be hard to diagnose a graphics card failure, but we can help. Even if the problem is too expensive to fix, we can get your data! Here are a few things to note about a computer graphics card replacement:
NVidia Graphics Card Failure
NVidia had a bad 18 months in 2008 & 2009 and released a bad batch of GPUs. There are a lot of common HP, Dell, and Mac models that use this GPU. If you think you have this issue, stop by and we’ll take a look!
Overheating Graphics Chip
If your graphics chip starts overheating, it could quickly fail. You may see artifacts on the screen, or the whole computer may freeze.
Does it make sense to fix?
