Do you own a Sony laptop that gives you no end of trouble when trying to plug your power adapter into it? Yep—we know your pain.
Sony’s Vaio is a great laptop, with a sleek, feature-filled design it’s the perfect laptop for school, the home office, or for just about any purpose that you need it. But it has that one fatal flaw; the power jack.
When I first started repairing Sony laptops I began to notice a pattern, besides the normal laptop repairs: screens, keyboards, fans etc, I noticed a prevalence of needed power jack repairs. So being the strange combination of curious and stubborn, I decided to not necessarily ask my coworkers if they had noticed this pattern too, but to begin searching for the source of the issue myself.
After some perusing through the wreckage of broken Vaio power jacks I came to a single conclusion; it was flawed by design. Sony, in their hast to make a stellar computer, had neglected to develop a durable power jack for their laptop. This piece is absolutely vital for powering and charging your laptop and without it, it’s essentially useless.
After discussing the issue with Matt, who had already noticed the trend, we developed a method here at Computer Repair Doctor that is cost efficient and long-lasting. There is absolutely no sense in replacing a fragile part with another fragile part—it’s not fair to you the customer. So with our use of soldering tools and skillful tact we’ve developed a method that will keep you from having to come back through our doors. (Don’t worry, we take no offense)
Now, we don’t want flex our ego by saying that we have made a better power jack than Sony did, but if you were to say so, then well—we might have to agree with you. Humbly of course.
